Orticanoodles

Orticanoodles (Milan) is the Italian artist duo formed by Walter “Wally” Contipelli and Alessandra “Alita” Montanari, widely known for their vibrant, multi-layered stencil work. Starting out on the streets of Milan’s Ortica district in the early 2000s, they transformed their neighbourhood into an open-air laboratory, experimenting with bold colours, intricate patterns and large-scale portraits. Their signature “stencil wall” technique builds images through dozens of meticulously cut layers, creating murals that pulse with texture, rhythm and precision. Celebrated for their ability to blend pop imagery with social consciousness, Orticanoodles has created public artworks across Europe and collaborated with museums, brands and community projects alike. From monumental tributes to cultural icons to participatory murals involving local residents, the duo keeps expanding the language of stencil art, proving that two heads, and countless layers, can reshape an entire city block.
