On the façade of an utilities building in Amsterdam, bold calligraphy and abstract graffiti forms collide in a powerful mural. Rendered in sweeping strokes of white, blue, and pink against a dark background, the piece merges traditional letterforms with the raw energy of street writing. Words such as Love, Future, and phrases in calligraffiti script emerge from the wall, their layered presence evoking both history and forward movement.

A collaboration between Belgian calligraffiti artist Mataone and Dutch artistTeamBlazin, Future embodies the dialogue between styles and cultures. Mataone’s mastery of ornate lettering fuses with TeamBlazin’s dynamic graffiti energy, creating a mural that is both disciplined and explosive.

In the urban environment, the work transforms the wall into a manifesto of hope and identity with input from local Huygens college students. It points toward a future where tradition and innovation coexist, where words are not only read but felt, and where art becomes a shared language across borders.

Dutch artist Team Blazin is an esteemed Hoofddorp-based designer, calligraffiti painter, graphic artist, and entrepreneur. TeamBlazin’ is the single permanent Dutch artist in SAMA’s collection, and SAMA’s unique introduction and connection to the subculture of contemporary Dutch graffiti, which shadows SAMA’s main disciplinary focus, street art. Through shared goals such as social, artistic, cultural, and entrepreneurial impact, SAMA and TeamBlazin’ have supported each other’s growth, developing several social and educational projects together.
