When visitors leave comments or submit content on the Platform, we collect:
- the data shown in the submission form
- the visitor’s IP address
- the browser user agent string (to support spam detection)
An anonymised string (hash) generated from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service.

Once approved, your profile image may be publicly visible in the context of your comment.
2.2 Media Uploads
If you upload images to the Platform, you should avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS).
Visitors may be able to download and extract location data from images.

- Comment cookies: store name, email, and website (valid for 1 year)
- Login cookies:
- temporary cookie to check browser compatibility
- login cookies (2 days; 2 weeks if “Remember Me” is selected)
- display settings cookies (1 year)
- Editing cookies: store article ID when editing content (expires after 1 day)
Cookies do not contain sensitive personal data.

Articles on this Platform may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, social media posts).
Embedded content behaves as if you visited the external website directly.
These third-party platforms may:

- track your interaction with the content

Personal data is processed to:
- operate and maintain the Platform
- facilitate user participation and contributions
